About

This summer, the Société de développement du Quartier latin (SQDL) and MU collaborated on an asphalt art project on St-Denis Street, a commercial artery that was pedestrianized to facilitate getting around while respecting COVID-19 social distancing measures. The ground art transformed the section between Sherbrooke Street and de Maisonneuve Boulevard into a colourful and fun pedestrian zone, giving passers-by a safely distanced cultural experience and an opportunity to check out local businesses.

With his twenty years of experience in street painting, the artist Roadsworth (Peter Gibson) was chosen to carry out the project. Inspired by the temporary street furniture developed by ILOT 84 for the summer season, he created a work that blends instinctively into its environment. The project livened up the Quarter Latin’s atmosphere, making its public space more attractive and welcoming.
