About
La Société de développement de l’avenue du Mont-Royal (SDAMR) has called on MU for the second time this year to create a new mural, designed by painter François Vincent. A pioneer of contemporary printmaking in Quebec, François Vincent has developed a practice where texture, light, geometry and optical illusion meet. This is his very first mural, reflecting his interest in the construction of the image, as well as in the relationships between color, space and material. Composed of repeated forms, the mural presents a series of architectural landscapes, each distinguished by its own color palette and atmosphere. Play with light and shadow accentuates the volumes of the work, creating an impression of relief and making the forms appear to detach from the surface of the wall.
