In 2022, the City of Varennes celebrates its 350th anniversary. To mark this event, the city commissioned MU to create a mural depicting important historical milestones on the walls of the new outdoor pool facility and inspired by the 350th anniversary theme, De fleuve et d’exploit.
The mural represents Varennes as a city that is proud of its past, yet looks to the future. The artist was inspired by symbols of the city, infrastructures and historical figures in order to create his mural.
This project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the Government of Quebec and the City of Varennes under the 2020-2022 Cultural Development Agreement.
