About

A new mural is enhancing the environment for the students at Marie-de-l’Incarnation Elementary School!

The wall, which had featured a work by the artist PHLASH for many years, was in a state of advanced disrepair when major renovations were undertaken in 2019. During these renovations, the playground, unfortunately located very close to the Turcot Interchange, was equipped with sports fields, green spaces, and ground markings to provide the best possible environment for the young students, despite its less-than-ideal location. The wall facing the playground was also renovated, erasing its old colors and leaving a blank canvas, which had remained since the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2024, MU was finally able to initiate the process to revitalize the wall. The artist Marc-Olivier Lamothe was selected to create a colorful, refreshing, and invigorating piece. Through his work, Marc-Olivier enjoys creating spaces where one can rest their eyes for a moment and infuse the subconscious with playful waves. This new mural of his, directly facing the schoolyard, invites children and teachers to wander through this garden of possibilities, filled with surprises.
