About
In collaboration with Saesem, the Éco-quartier de Peter-McGill, the City of Montreal and the borough of Ville-Marie, this community work was created by artist Izabelle Duguay with the objective of revitalizing the area while actively involving the residents.
In addition to the work, several cultural mediation activities were organized during the realization. Residents had the opportunity to meet the artist, learn about the medicinal plants in the mural, and then plant some in the community garden across the street.
The mural entitled Prends soin is a scenic road work where one can be surprised, in the middle of nature, where secret lands and grandiose landscapes are revealed, far from the road and inhabited places. In summer, the work blends into its environment. In winter, when the leaves fall, a glimmer of hope appears in a corner of the mural.
This project was realized with the financial support of the City of Montreal’s Mural Art Program.
