The City of Dorval approached MU to create a mural on the side of the Edgar Rouleau Arena as a tribute to the City’s day camp. Artist Aless MC, together with MU’s team of educators, led two brainstorming workshops with a total of 50 children from the Dorval day camp to identify the ideas and themes they wished to see reflected in the mural. Through discussions and drawings created during these sessions, several key words emerged: Inclusion, Solidarity, Summer, Nature, Childhood, Educators, Sports, Crafts, and Friendship. By designing the mural Souvenirs around these themes, Aless MC ensured the creation of a meaningful work in which the young users of the arena can recognize themselves.
