About
At Georges-Vanier School, a once-dull hallway has been transformed into a vibrant space full of color and meaning. Inspired by collages created by students in secondary 4 and 5, the mural designed by Julian Palma highlights important values such as mutual aid, inclusion, and solidarity.
Ten highly committed students contributed to a work that reflects their reality and their hopes. Among the striking elements are representations of people with disabilities, two characters carrying a stone together—an allegory of teamwork—and textures created with a roller for visual and tactile richness.
One student who had experienced bullying found a safe space where she could finally feel comfortable. This new decor, which leads young people to their science classes, now brightens their days and instills a sense of pride in the entire school.
Thank you to the Chamandy Foundation, which enables young people to take ownership of their environment and make their voices heard with pride, commitment, and creativity.
