About
Through a series of creative workshops led by MU at Georges-Vanier Secondary School, students explored various techniques—tape art, cyanotype, and screen printing—while also taking part in mural art workshops to create a collective piece.
A brainstorming session helped them define the theme: dreaming of a better future, together. The different elements of the mural reflect the ideas that emerged: multiculturalism, symbolized by the abstract patterns in the frame; friendship, represented by the complicit fist bump and the two friends seen from behind, gazing toward the future; and the passing of knowledge between generations, evoked by three flowers of varying sizes. Finally, a student lying down embodies this shared dream of a brighter tomorrow. The cat, the flowers, and the gradient evoking a sunset are all elements the students wanted to see included in the mural.
