About
The mural Le Partage des âges was created by Grade 6 students from the Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood, paired with young people of the same age from the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie neighbourhood. They were accompanied through every step of the creation process by the MU team and guest artist Thaïla Khampo, who designed the visual for the work following a brainstorming session.
The mural reflects the values of living together and community. More specifically, friendship and mutual support are conveyed through a work representing play, collaboration, and kindness. We see children helping one another build a house, symbolic of a new home for many of the participants. Friendship is illustrated through play and a hug. The intergenerational aspect of the location is also highlighted with the scene of elders drawing the landscape.
Thank you to Natacha Mongeau and the team at Relais Côte-des-Neiges, as well as Muriel Porret, teacher at École Saint-Arsène.
This project was funded by the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration and the City of Montreal.
