About
In order to adapt its productions to meet COVID-19 health regulations, MU developed “The Art of Distancing” an artistic and playful proposal for our shared spaces. Through ground marking and signage projects in the city’s public spaces, MU continued its mission: to beautify communities with socially engaged art and provide artists with work.
This summer, MU collaborated with the organization XP_MTL to adorn Sainte-Catherine’s street—which was transformed into a pedestrian street for the summer—with an energizing array of shapes and colours. The project was led by artist Isabelle Duguay, who encouraged a high degree of improvisation in the creative process. The resulting artwork injected a solid dose of joyful energy into Montreal’s downtown and strengthened its position as an artistic and creative hub!
