About

The mural La premessa di un fiore (The premise of a flower) is the very first work by internationally renowned Italian artist Agostino Iacurci in Canada!

This giant work was created as part of the major redevelopment of Jean-Brillant Street, in collaboration with the Côte-Des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-De-Grâce borough, the Office municipale d’habitation de Montréal (OMHM) and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura de Montréal.

Following a consultation with residents, the artist represented the dynamics of the neighbourhood. The plants and flowers represent the cultural diversity of the neighborhood and the omnipresent vegetation of Mount Royal. As for the pots, they symbolize the house that watches over the citizens.

This project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the Government of Quebec through the Cultural Development Agreement of the City of Montreal’s Mural Art Program.
