About
This mural, which is located at CEA Champlain, was produced as part of the Laisse Ta Trace program. For 12 weeks, students had the chance to participate in several artistic activities such as tape art, calligraphy, screen printing, India ink, bleach, tracing and painting with guest artists from several fields.
The final mural is like a story that begins in 4 boxes where you can see a caterpillar climbing up a tree to turn into a cocoon. The next steps show the butterfly transforming to grow into a large majestic butterfly. Through these stages of evolution we can see graphic elements representing an ascent at different speeds to symbolize the fact that the important thing is to get there each at their own speed. Finally, a box with 3 small dots punctuates the mural thus evoking the idea that once out of CEA Champlain the story continues. The final theme of the mural is perseverance and success.
