About

The mural, created by artist Peru in collaboration with students from welcoming classes, explores the theme of inclusion and highlights their migration journeys. Through discussions and brainstorming sessions, several meaningful themes emerged, including overcoming fears, the importance of friendship, and the development of self-confidence.

The students expressed their desire for an energetic mural that would bring positivity into the shared space. Throughout the workshops, they incorporated their own personal symbols using stencils: elements of nature to represent their connection to past and present environments, birds symbolizing freedom, soccer and basketballs representing friendship, and more.

Special thanks to Cristopher, Dhala, Ali, Stefanny, Yeiver, Esmeralda, Elie, Nedhir, Yacine, Badr, Safa, Divine, Dagiro, Chalie, Daysi, Amy, Boyi, Dalia, Nicolas, Geneve, Mario, and Olivia.

And thanks as well to teachers Larissa De Marino Fernandes and Mateo Porfir, as well as principal Guylaine Cool.
