Since the wall hosting the artwork faces the courtyard of Saint-Clément Elementary School, illustrator Thaïla Khampo chose to revisit the tale by Selma Lagerlöf and its Japanese animated adaptation The Wonderful Adventures of Nils Holgersson. The mural thus depicts Nils Holgersson traveling on the back of a Canada goose. This flight symbolizes openness to others as well as learning through travel. The blue of the sky extending across the wall creates a visual breach, giving students the impression that the work continues beyond its frame. Through this piece, the artist wishes to remind both children and adults to remain attentive to the nature that surrounds us.
