About
Created by the artist Chien Champion, this mural—made by and for young people—is the result of a collaboration between MU and the Maison des jeunes de Bordeaux-Cartierville, as part of the Les jeunes sont les artistes de demain project from the 3rd edition of the Ahuntsic–Cartierville borough’s participatory budget. The goal was to establish a co-creation process with youth from the neighborhood; they were therefore able to participate in both the ideation and the execution of the mural, fostering civic engagement, discovery, and the learning of various artistic techniques.
This allowed the young participants to use these walls as a means of expression in public space. During the art workshops, the artist Chien Champion gave them a disposable camera so they could photograph their daily lives—also a way to capture their energy, interests, environment, and identity.
