About
Students from the Amos school had the opportunity to collaborate with artists Amina Mandour and Romain Boz, as well as the MU team, to create a mural in their school around the theme of emotions. The project began with a brainstorming workshop led by the facilitators, during which the youth shared their ideas on the subject. Based on these discussions, the artists designed a concept inspired by the group’s reflections.
The mural comes to life by exploring five emotions. It begins on the left with wonder, represented by a large tree at whose base one feels very small. Its longevity, colors, and solidity inspire admiration. Next, serenity is evoked through a sensation of floating on calm waters, where one drifts peacefully in a reassuring state of surrender. Joy follows, embodied by vibrant blossoms: the roundness of the forms, their softness, and the imposing size of the flowers immerse the viewer in a comforting, almost tangible bouquet. Hope takes human form through a hand giving birth to a flower, symbolizing that every action can bear fruit. Finally, pride is represented by a rising sun illuminating the mountains: a metaphor for challenges overcome, synonymous with growth and accomplishment.
This collaborative project allowed students to discover artistic techniques while actively participating in transforming their environment. It also strengthened their connection with the arts by offering them a space to express themselves, reflect, and create together.
