About

At La Boîte à lettres in Longueuil, a small group of adults in literacy education were visited by artistic educator Amina Mandour over several weeks. They participated in various artistic activities, such as customizing caps with graffiti lettering in a workshop led by graffiti artist Zek. They also had the opportunity to engage in linocut printing on tote bags and a bleach calligraphy class on shirts, taught by artist Romain Boz.

Following a brainstorming session, the mural theme centered on inclusion and community. Individuals and their differences are represented through insects forming a group living harmoniously within a large ecosystem. The colors reflect the queer flag, emphasizing inclusion of this community which is very important to many of them.
