About

Alongside artist Bryan Beyung, students from Cité-des-Jeunes high school created this collective mural after exploring various artistic techniques. They had the opportunity to meet poet Nella Tetam and craft their own poems, which are featured in the final artwork.

Centered on the theme of “French-language culture,” the piece highlights the Latin origin of the word cultura, where the etymology relates to nurturing both the land and the soul. Upon admiring the mural, viewers can read excerpts from slams by three students, an ancient theater mask, elements of nature from collages made by project students, and a photograph of Félix Leclerc’s guitar, once housed in Vaudreuil.

Artists: Bryan Beyung and Nella Tetam
Art Educators: Julie Legault-Béliveau and Loik Asselin-Côté
