About

Designed by emerging Atikamekw artist Meky Ottawa, the mural celebrates Ms. Obomsawin’s commitment to the defense of First Nations, and more specifically the rights and education of Aboriginal children. This is the 20th of MU’s collection Montreal’s Great Artists, highlighting the creative minds and forces of those who have made outstanding contributions to Montreal’s cultural scene. It is also MU’s 4th mural in the Ville-Marie borough celebrating the heritage of Indigenous Peoples. The mural was realized by the MU art team under the direction of Rafael Sottolichio.
