About

Conceived as a community-led project, this mural by artist TEO reflects the collective efforts of Tétreaultville’s residents and local business owners. It is part of the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough’s revitalization. The mural is painted on the side wall of the Tétreaultville IGA, right next to Sainte-Louise-de-Marillac Elementary School (CSSDM).

Artist TEO LE ROO conducted a cultural mediation workshop with the school’s children to gather stories and everyday experiences of those who walk through this area and live in the neighborhood. The mural illustrates significant moments in the children’s lives and the path they take on their way home after school. It also incorporates visual elements collected during the workshop, such as houses, soccer, the train, friends, and more. The giant symbolizes a guardian figure who guides and protects them on their journey home.
