About

The mural L’Estérel, adorned with flowers, overlooks Place Boyer and was created by artist Marie-Claude Marquis. The floral-themed mural draws inspiration from wallpaper and nature, enhancing the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of this space located in the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough. Formerly a municipal parking lot, the site was transformed as part of a large-scale project into a “sponge plaza”, offering a warm and inviting place for rest and gatherings just steps from Plaza Saint-Hubert.

With around twenty trees and shrubs and 1,450 plants covering more than half its surface, the public square contributes to greening efforts and supports biodiversity in a highly urbanized area. To help prevent flooding during heavy rainfall, a rain garden—with a capacity equivalent to more than 530 bathtubs (81.5 cubic meters of water)—collects runoff from the square, Boyer Street, and the adjacent alley.

Inclusive and universally accessible, Place Boyer has been enhanced with the mural, distinctive urban furniture, misting stations, ambient lighting, and an activity kiosk.
