Since mid-December, 12 teenagers from Paul-Gérin-Lajoie-d’Outremont High School are involved in the Laisse ta trace committee : weekly after-school mural art workshops offered by MU in partnership with the Commission scolaire Marguerite- Bourgeoys and runned by Isabelle Duguay. The workshops are developed in a student retention perspective and aim, among other things, to explore artistic professions and discover atypical models of success.

Each week, these young people demonstrate curiosity, openness and creativity. During the last 3 months, they experienced tape art, airbrush with ZEK, stencils, cartoons with cartoonist Lateef Martin, illustration with Caro Caron (EN MASSE), video games design with Ubisoft designer Nicola Godin and stop- motion with photographer Stéphane Cocke, in addition to visiting the FreshPaint gallery and beginning the whole brainstorming process for their own collective mural with muralist Gene Pendon.

We will shortly publish the first pictures of their mural’s making of. Meanwhile, here’s a few pictures of the artistic adventures of these amazingly talented teenagers!
