This winter, St. Georges Highschool students (grade 4&5) met an uncommon artist : Montrealer Miss me is not only a wheatpaste pro (wall-pasted paper technique), but she is also one of the few women in street art whose work is recognized internationally. She presented her artistic process, her inspirations and aspirations; live demonstration included!
A group of students then had the opportunity to experience first hand the whole wheatpasting process by collaborating with Miss me for an education-themed art project. Once the concept was chosen — knowledge through the eyes of young people from all backgrounds —, they were hard at work under the supervision of the artist and MU art educator : drawing images with tracing paper, image enlargement, cutting and gluing. They can be proud of the final result!
This project was funded by the provincial program Culture at School and St. Georges HighSchool.
