About
Splashes of colors at Centraide! Four talented artists have brought six works to life to add a vibrant and inspiring touch to the Centraide offices. Each mural tells a story, reflecting the diversity, inclusion, and community spirit that characterize the exceptional work done by the organization.
For this first mural, artist Aurore Danielou drew inspiration from Greek mythology and the thread of Ariadne, which has become in popular symbolism the red thread that helps guide people in difficult places or moments. Centraide is this thread of Ariadne that helps all people in need of guidance and direction. This mural is a metaphor for the organization, with a gentle, serene face filled with kindness that, thanks to this red thread, a conduit of hope and connection, helps people most in need throughout their journey. Hands at the other end of the thread (on the second floor) grasp the thread to be guided throughout the process they undertake. The sunflower, a symbol of light, energy, and hope, and the poppy symbolizing peace and renewal, accompany the thread of Ariadne throughout the mural. This mural is located in the building’s cafeteria.
