About
This work was created by the 6 to 10 year olds at Katimavik Elementary School in the stairwell leading to their recess. After a storm of ideas and the presentation of the artist who made the model, Annick Gaudreault, the main theme that emerged was inclusion. The youth emphasized the importance of the seasons, warmth, comfort and welcome, hence the presence of the sun and warm colors. The colors in the composition are also colors that were requested by the youth, including turquoise, yellow, blue and green. Finally, as music and movement were discussed, dancing ribbons following the musical notes also make up the mural.
A tour of the murals in the Latin Quarter was done with the students at the end of the project.
