On the 25th anniversary of its iconic show Alegría, the Cirque du Soleil commissioned MU to make this mural as a gift to its fans and to the place where it all started. This work is a testament to how the circus arts have fueled our collective imagination and helped Quebec’s culture flourish.
The artist Julian Palma was chosen for his colourful, dynamic and contemplative aesthetic, which transports viewers into the magical world of the circus. This work was inspired by Alegría’s theme and characters. It also draws upon on the emotions that Alegría sparks and its anthem of hope and change.
