About
Following a brainstorming session as part of the Culture à l’école program, students aged 12 to 17 from Sainte-Anne College decided to enhance the ambiance of a stairwell using colors, textures, the concept of movement, and abstraction. This location was strategically chosen for a mural because it annually hosts a school race nicknamed the Empire State Building, where students ascend and descend equivalent to the height of this iconic New York skyscraper.
To inject life and dynamism into both the activity and the path regularly taken by students, illustrator Mathieu Potvin created a stunning dynamic model inspired by the keywords generated during the brainstorming. The visual is also an anamorphosis, revealing its full potential when viewed from the top of the stairs, when looking down.
